Maikhana – Tavern/ bar

Mai means alcohol ( commonly called Sharab)
Khana means house or compartment

Examples of its usage is given below:

_“Kahaan maikhane ka darwaaza Ghalib, aur kahaan waiz,_Par itna jante hain kal woh jaata tha ke ham nikle.”

The priest and the tavern door are things wide apart,Yet yesterday I saw him enter, as I was coming out.

“waiz sabut lae ko mai ke jawaaz mein,Iqbal ko yeh zid hai ke peena bhi chor de” ‘

Should a priest produce evidence against wine, Iqbal too will pledge never to touch a glass’.
